The importance of acquiring clinical skills
One of the characteristics of education in medical sciences is the necessity of acquiring clinical and practical skills in addition to learning scientific and theoretical materials. This characteristic has led to a situation where students go to hospitals together with their professors to observe patients face to face and thereby learn and practice clinical skills. In the recent decade, the education and training methods have become more scientific in the field of medicine and the values related to medical ethics (e.g. observing patients’ rights) have received much attention. This has led to a condition where traditional methods have been questioned. Currently, students of medicine all over the world practice clinical and practical skills on moulages and models. Clinical skills center in ARUMS school of medicine and paramedicine has been established to pursue this purpose more appropriately.
