Education development office (EDO)
Usually, the educational affairs in schools and educational hospitals affiliated to the university are planned and directed by the university’s vice-chancellery for education. The vice-chancellery for education attempts to operate systematically and purposefully in order to change and modernize the educational processes in the university and encourage thinking, studying, and researching among students and professors. To fulfil these objectives, a specialized unit is needed so as to monitor and manage all of the factors involved, and put them in the right direction. That is why EDO has been established in universities.
This office performs activities in four dimensions with the aim of developing education:
1) Planning
2) Evaluation
3) Research in education
4) Empowerment and training of faculty members
By using the facilities, equipment, and the potentialities of the affiliated centers and also the recognition of the community needs, the EDO of the university can play asubstantially effective rolein the fulfilment of the educational goals of the institute in various educational and scientific areas. In April 2010, the EDO at ARUMS school of medicine was established in line with the policies of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the strategic plan of the university for education with the aim of improving the quality of education in the school.
